How would you like to win a family trip to Disney World?
That’s just one of the prizes being given away in the SunWise with SHADE 2013 Poster Contest. The Shade Foundation of America is partnering with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SunWise program and asking students K-8 to submit original, creative posters to raise sun safety awareness. 4th-8th grade state winners will receive both individual and school prizes and will be entered into a national contest for a family trip to Disney World. The winning school in the national contest will receive a Shade ‘N Net shade structure. The top five K-3rd grade entries will also receive prizes.
Being sun-safe is important because skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S., and one in five Americans will develop this disease. By following the SunWise action steps, children are taught to protect themselves from ultraviolet radiation at a young age, decreasing their chance of developing skin cancer later in life.

Good luck and remember to Limit the Sun, Not the Fun!
