From the Earth, The Art of Natural Dyes: Fall Dye Starter

Explore a variety of techniques using the bounty of nature in this seasonal series at the Nature Center with local Mixed Media Artist Annmarie Ciccarelli.

Fall: Dye Starter- Capture the Spirit and colors of Fall. This recipe makes use of Maple Leaves prior to their transition into yellow, scarlet and orange colors. This process creates a permanent textile leaf print that can be used to lend an autumnal aesthetic to quilts, clothing, and all manner of fabric based housewares. All supplies included. Ages 10 and up. (2 hours) $12.00.

Bike & Boat: Delaware River

Explore where the Lehigh River ends. The trip starts in Easton where the Lehigh River joins the Delaware River. Paddle 6 miles downstream to Theodore Roosevelt Recreation Area. Then switch to bikes and peddle back along the Delaware Canal Path.

HIGHLIGHTS: Brodhead Creek falls, evidence of wildlife, native plants in woodsy setting

TRAIL INFO:A challenging hike of about 5 miles. Some trails are wide, grassy and level; others are steep and rocky. Yellow blazes mark part of the way. Elevation change of about 300 feet.

Join hike leader Carol Hillestad for a challenging hike of about 5 miles.

WHERE: Meet at Paradise-Price Preserve, Henry’s Crossing Road. Take Route 191 in Paradise Valley to Cranberry Creek Road. From Cranberry Creek Road, take Henry’s Crossing Road. When you cross the railroad tracks, the trailhead is on your right. If you wish, bring a snack to enjoy at the falls.

Fall Harvest Weekend

Celebrate the Fall Harvest!

Choose from a selection of locally grown apples from Grassy Ridge and local pumpkins, too! Cut your own bouquet in the cut flower garden or create an arrangement in a carved pumpkin! Enjoy live music from 12-4. Local sweet treats will be available too! Fall scavenger hunt will be ready for the kiddos to enjoy, also.
